Volvo Ocean Race

The problem

ABN AMRO took part, with two boats, in the largest and most challenging sailing race around the world in 2007: the Volvo Ocean Race. At each port, ABN AMRO awaits its crew, employees and guests in its 'Hospitality Pavilion'. The pavilions fly around the world with them; when one pavilion is at one port the other is always been set up in the next port. Building a pavilion alone takes a good three days. That’s why ABN AMRO needed a ceiling for the pavilions that met the requirements of speed, ease of dismantling and a smart appearance.

Products used

  • FR19VO
"FAAY has supplied 700 m2 of ceiling and they go with us all around the world"

The solution

As speed is a very important element in building up and breaking down the pavilions, the FR19VO ceilings by FAAY were selected. These ceiling systems are concealed, removable and have excellent fire-resistant and soundproof properties. The FAAY ceiling tiles are light in colour and are perforated for acoustic absorption. These subtle holes give the ceiling a smart appearance.
